Academia Allegro Vivo

The Academia Allegro Vivo was founded by violinist and conductor Bijan Khadem-Missagh. Its members represent the traditional school of Viennese Strings and its numerous CD, radio and TV recordings document its exceptional homogeneity.

The Academia Allegro Vivo, initially known as Tonkuenstler Chamber Orchestra, has toured worldwide with regular performances at international Music Festivals such as the Vienna Music Summer "Klangbogen" and at the Vienna Musikverein.

An integral part of Allegro Vivo, the International Chamber Music Festival Austria founded in 1979, the Academia Allegro Vivo acts ever since as its "Orchestra in residence".

Characteristics

A musical ambassador of the Festival Allegro Vivo, the Academia Allegro Vivo contributes toward the mutual understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultures by integrating their music in its repertoire.

Ranging from the Baroque to contemporary music, the repertoire also focuses on special periods such as the Vienna Classic or the music of the Monarchy of the Danube countries around 1900. The programme series "Cultural Metamorphosis" presents a combination of European music with that of other cultures.

Bijan Khadem-Missagh and the Academia Allegro Vivo also promote contemporary music and have done many first performances specially dedicated to them.
